We bought the land in November 2008. This photo was taken shortly after that when we had started finding and hauling rocks to the site.
We gathered rocks from the river for the foundation. We paid someone to break rocks so that we could use that for gravel. We collected materials for 2 1/2 months.
We bought 4 dump trucks of sand and carried it by wheelbarrows to the building site since there is not a road that goes to the property.
We bought sacks of cement.
We bought iron bars.
The iron bars were made into posts.
