And there you have it.  Looking good, huh??!!!  I think it’s going to turn out great!

The blocks are going up between the walls and the ceiling.  This is a view standing where the kitchen table will be looking down the hallway to the bathroom.  There will be a bookshelf on the right.  The first door on the left is to the living room and the second is to the 2nd bedroom.  It is looking great!

The roof is pretty much dry (except for some rain that just fell this afternoon).  The supports will come down on Monday.  I climbed up the ladder to get this photo, but was too nervous to make it all the way up.  Don’t laugh!  Have you ever been up a Haitian ladder??!  This is my photo…

Then Charly took the camera away from me to get this.  Sorry it’s blurry.  He was laughing at me.

Looks good!  More photos to come after Monday.

They got done with iron prep work around 2:30 AM on Sat morning and the cement crew came around 4:45 AM.  We didn’t get much sleep.  But, we got a lot done.

After all the 2x4s go up, they will lay the plywood down on top.  Then, iron bars will be fastened together to form a grid on top of the plywood.  Hopefully, this will all be done by Fri, the 25th because we are planning to pour the roof on the 26th.

Sept 18 09 a 004

We have had $4000 given this week.  Praise God!  Thank you!!!

This week material were purchased and delivered for the roof.

Sept 17 09 b 042

There are still a few more things to come (cement & some iron bars).  They have made 2 trips so far in bringing the stuff here.  They can probably get the rest in one full load or 2 half loads.  It depends if they are delivering for others in the village at that time.  So, the roof crew will start on Friday and we hope to pour the roof on Sat, 9/26.  The cement will have to dry for 3 wks before removing the supports.  After this, the house will be covered!!!  Next, we plan to have someone start working on the iron bars for the windows & porch.  After that, smooth the walls with cement, install windows and doors, lay ceramic tile, install plumbing and electric, and paint.  The end is looking near and it’s so exciting.  Thanks for all of your help!!
